Filzpantoffeln

Meine alten Hausschuhe sind im Begriff sich aufzulösen. Ohne Schuhe ist es viel zu kalt, also musste schnell eine Lösung her.
Schuhgeschäft? Von wegen!
Praktischer Weise habe ich vor kurzem eine Packung Strick-Filz-Wolle von Hofer mitgenommen. Für irgendetwas wird sie schon gut sein, oder?
Na eben...perfekt für die neuen Hausschuhe.

Ich habe noch nie gestrickte Stücke verfilzt und war sehr gespannt, ob das Ergebnis denn auch wirklich meinen Erwartungen entsprechen würde.
Vor dem filzen haben sie ja nicht so ansehnlich ausgesehen, meine Schuhe:

Und ein wenig groß waren sie auch...

Mein Mann konnte sich ja gar nicht vorstellen, dass daraus mal etwas wird. (Und ich war auch ein wenig am Zweifeln. Kann es wirklich sein, dass die sooo viel kleiner werden?)

Also ab damit in die Waschmaschine.

Und...tadahhh!

Sie passen! (Den Faden, der seitlich absteht muss ich natürlich noch abschneiden...)

Fazit: Strickfilzen geht ruck zuck und macht unglaublich Spaß! Fast wie zaubern...nur viel leichter! :-)

The end of the rainbow...

...well I think we've found it :-).

Der Winterkönig und seine Schneezwerge

...sind vor ein paar Tagen fertig geworden und stehen jetzt auf unserem Jahreszeitentisch.

Bending doll for the doll house

DD was coming home from school today bursting with pride at her self made doll house furniture.
To put them at use I created a little doll girl for her.
Lucky enough I had the essentials at home and it took me just an hour or so to finish her.


Here's what she looks like:

And here's how to make your own:

You'll need:

• Bending doll "skeleton" (mine is looking like this and is 10 cm tall) 
• a piece of crafting felt
• a little amount of yarn fitting for a crochet needle size 3,5 mm, crochet needle
• glue (I like to use "Multikleber" from "CreaDirekt")
• wool for the hair
• if you like some paints for drawing the face
• scissors, pencil, needle & thread

The dress:

• Print the template, cut it out and paste it onto your felt. Cut the shape out of the felt.
• Fold in half and sew along the side seams of the dress.
• Fold inwards along the hand openings just a little to create a seam. Sew.
• Turn inside out.
• Cut a little slit for the neck. Slip on your doll and put on the head.

The belt:

• Chain about 30 - 40 cm. Break the yarn and fasten off. 
• Use the row of chains to chain again. When the "belt" is long enough to fit around the dolls middle, fasten off.
• Tie it around the doll and secure with a knot and a bow.

The hair: 

• Pull away three pieces of wool about 10 cm long and 3 cm wide.
• Glue one piece from the front to the back of the head leaving them to hang into the face.
• Glue the other to pieces from left to right onto the head. 
• Cut the bangs to desired length.

The hat:

• Chain about 25.
• Slip stitch into the first chain to make a circle
• Chain 1 and begin the first row. Work in circles from there on.
• Round 1 & 2: 1 single crochet in each single crochet.
• Round 3: single crochet together every 4th and 5th single crochet.
• Round 4: single crochet in each single crochet.
• Round 5: single crochet together every 3rd and 4th single crochet.
• Round 6: single crochet in each single crochet.
• Round 7: single crochet together every 2nd and 3rd single crochet.
• Round 8: single crochet in each single crochet.
• Round 9: single crochet together.
• Round 10: single crochet in each single crochet.
• Break yarn and fasten of. Close the tip of the hat and sew in thread.

If you want to you can draw a face or braid the hair.

Here's where she lives now. Now we're just missing a house. :-)

Biegepüppchen für das Puppenhaus

Meine Tochter hat heute voller Stolz ihre selbst gemachten Möbel für ein Puppenhaus aus der Schule mitgebracht.
Damit die Möbel auch benutzt werden können, habe ich ihr schnell eine kleine Puppendame gezaubert.
Praktischer Weise hatte ich noch ein "Gestellt" für Biegepuppen zu Hause.
Eins zwei drei und die kleine Dame war fertig.

So sieht sie aus:

Und so geht's:

Du brauchst

• Grundgestellt für Biegepuppen (meines sieht ungefähr so aus und ist 10 cm hoch)
• ein Stück Filz
• ein bisschen Wolle (Stärke 3,5) und entsprechende Häkelnadel
• Kleber (ich verwende am liebsten Multikleber von CreaDirekt)
• Märchenwolle für die Haare
• eventuell Farbe für's Gesicht
• Schere, Stift, Nadel & Faden

Das Kleid:

• Vorlage ausdrucken, ausschneiden, auf den Filz pausen und ausschneiden. 
• Einmal in der Mitte falten, die Seitennähte schließen.
• An den Armen ganz wenig umlegen und den so entstehenden Saum festnähen.
• Kleid wenden.
• Für den Hals einen kleinen Schnitt in der Mitte zwischen den Armen machen. Über den Körper der Biegepuppe streifen. Kopf aufsetzen. 

Für den Gürtel:

• Aus der Wolle eine ca. 30 - 40 cm lange Luftmaschenkette häkeln. Faden abschneiden und durch die letzte Masche ziehen. 
• Mit der Luftmaschenkette noch einmal eine Luftmaschenkette häkeln. Wenn sie lange genug ist abendeln, um den Bauch der Puppe legen und mit einem Knoten und einer doppelten Masche schließen.

Für die Haare:

• Drei ca. 10 cm lange & 3 cm breite Stränge Märchenwolle lösen. 
• Einen Strang von hinten über den Kopf (lange Strinfransen lassen), die beiden anderen Stränge quer über den Kopf legen. 
• Festkleben.
• Stirnfransen auf die gewünschte Länge kürzen.

Für den Hut:

• Für den Hut ca. 25 Luftmaschen anschlagen und mit einer Kettmasche zu einem Ring schließen. 
• Runde 1 & 2: in jede Luftmasche eine feste Masche häkeln.
• Runde 3: jede 4. & 5. Masche zusammen häkeln.
• Runde 4: in jede feste Masche eine feste Masche häkeln.
• Runde 5: jede 3. & 4. Masche zusammen häkeln.
• Runde 6: in jede feste Masche eine feste Masche häkeln.
• Runde 7: jede 2. & 3. Masche zusammen häkeln.
• Runde 8: in jede Masche eine feste Masche häkeln.
• Runde 9: jeweils zwei feste Maschen zusammen häkeln.
• Runde 10: in jede feste Masche eine feste Masche häkeln.
• Faden abschneiden und durch die letzte Masche ziehen. Spitze zusammen ziehen und Faden vernähen.

Wer möchte, kann noch ein Gesicht aufmalen und / oder die Haare flechten.

Und so sieht sie dann in ihrem neuen zu Hause aus. Fehlt nur noch das Haus. :-)

Merlino, the little donkey pattern - English

One more time for all of your who don't speak German.

Here's a picture of our advent nature table. I'll share the pattern for the donkey. If you're interested in how to make Maria, Josef and Jesus you can buy the pattern here (it's not mine). I did however make some changes. I made Maria a little taller than in the pattern, Josef is even taller and slimmer. Also they have pieces of pipe cleaner in their arms to make them a little bendable.

The pattern includes a donkey pattern too but I liked my figures to be a little less cutesy so I invited my own.

MERLINO, THE DONKEY

Tools & Supplies:
3 mm crocheting hook
matching yarn (use a yarn slightly to big for your hook size. You don’t want any stuffing peaking through the gaps) in colors:
grey
off white
black
Stuffing material of your choice
big needle with round tip for sewing

General:
All pieces (except ears) are crocheted in spirals. Use a stitch marker or piece of yarn to mark the beginning of your rounds.
I like to start my pieces with two chains, crocheting the first row of single crochets in the second chain from hook. Feel free to use the wonder loop method instead (tutorials can be found on the internet ☺).

Abbreveations:
ch ...  chain
sc ... single crochet
sls ... slip stitch
sc2tog ... single crochet 2 toghether (decrease)
fh ... from hook
*...* ... repeat instructions between ** x times
() ... numbers between brackets tell you how many stitches the hole round should have (chains used for  
        turning when crocheting in rows are not included)

Body:
Use grey yarn.
1. chain 2 (2)
2. 6 sc in 2. chain fh(6)
3. *2 sc in next sc* x 6 (12)
4. *1 sc, 2 sc in next sc* x 6 (18)
5. *2 sc , 2 sc in next sc* x 6 (24)
6. *3 sc, 2 sc in next sc* x 6 (30)
7. – 10. 1 sc in each sc (30)
11. *3 sc, sc2tog * x 6 (24)
12. – 16. 1 sc in each sc (24)

Break yarn and fasten of. Stuff. Thread yarn through needle and wave in and out of the stitches of the last round. Pull tight and sew in yarn.

Ears: (make 2 grey & 2 white ones)
Use grey yarn, leave a long tail.
1. chain 6 (6)
2. 1 sc in 2. chain fh, 5 sc, chain 1, turn (5)
3. – 5. 1 sc in each sc across, chain 1, turn(5)
6. 2 sc, sc2tog, 1 sc, chain 1, turn (4)
7. 1 sc in each sc across, chain 1, turn (4)
8. 1 sc, sc2tog, 1 sc, chain 1, turn (3)
9. 1 sc in each sc, chain 1, turn (3)

Break yarn, sew in end.

Use white yarn. Leave long tail.
1. chain 4 (4)
2. 1 sc in 2. chain fh, 2 sc, chain 1, turn (3)
3. – 4. 1 sc in each sc across, chain 1, turn (3)
5. 1 sc, sc2tog, chain 1, turn (2)
6. 1 sc in each sc across, chain 1, turn (2)
7. sc2tog, chain 1, turn(1)

Break yarn, bind of and sew in end.
Using the white thread, sew white ears parts to grey parts.

Neck:
Use grey yarn, leave a long tail.
1. chain 21, using a sls in the first chain to make a ring. (21)
work in spirals after that
2. – 6. 1 sc in each sc (21)
7. 1 sls
Break yarn & bind of. Leave a long tail.

Hair:
Use black yarn.
Wrap yarn 10 to 15 times around for fingers. Leave a small gap between your middle and ring finger (like Mr. Spock when he says hello but smaller).
Break yarn (leave a longish tail) and pull the yarn through the gap between your fingers. Wrap around the yarns a few times and make a knot. Wriggle free your fingers and cut the loops on eather side.
Make about 5 pieces of hair.

Tail:
Use black yarn.
Cut 6 strings of yarn about 30 cm, fold in half and make a knot to secure them. Make a bread and secure.

Put it together:
Sew legs onto body. Make sure to use the longer ones for the front legs.
Sew on neck and head.
Using the long grey thread you left on the ears sew ears to head.
Estimate where the tail is going to be, take the black yarn and slip stitch your way up to in between the ears.
Break yarn and sew in ends.
Sew on the hair. Begin between the ears and stop about where the neck joins the body.
Sew on tail.
If you want to use black yarn to emboider eyes.
